Virginia Area Contingency Plan / VA ACP
The Virginia Area Contingency Plan describes the strategy for a coordinated federal, state, tribal and local response to a discharge or substantial threat of discharge of oil, or a release or substantial threat of release of hazardous substance(s) within the jurisdiction of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Virginia Coastal Zone. The area of responsibility for Sector Virginia includes the entire coastal zone for the Commonwealth of Virginia, including the Eastern Shore of Virginia. This area includes the Southern Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries seaward to the border of the Exclusive Economic Zone.
