This Response.EPA.gov Privacy Policy describes how the EPA and its contractors treat Personal Data that you provide or we collect when you use any of our services (listed below)

Response.EPA.gov is a Federal Information System that collects PII including Name address and telephone number. (https://www.epa.gov/privacy/epa-federal-information-systems)

Our service consists of (a) our website located at Response.EPA.gov.epa.gov and any subdomains of thereof (collectively, the “Site”), (b) any web-based service made available to you by or on behalf of EPA via the Site (each, a “Web-based Offering”), (c) our downloadable or cloud based software applications (each, an “App”) and IT tools (each, a “Tool”), and (d) all content published on our Site (other than user content) (the “Content”). The Site, the Web-based Offerings, the Apps, the Tools, and the Content are referred to collectively in this Privacy Policy as our “Service” and each a “Service”.

“Personal Data” means any information that can be used to identify, contact, or locate you, such as: your name, address, email address, or phone number, but does not include any information that has been fully anonymized so that a specific individual can no longer be identified from it.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information. When you sign up for a Response.EPA.gov Account, we ask you for Personal Data such as your name, email address and telephone number.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
This system stores your name, email address and the date on which you registered.

App Data. We may share App Data with third parties so long as it does not identify any specific individual or disclose Personal Data about you.

As Required by Law and Similar Disclosures. We reserve the right to disclose your Personal Data as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on the Service. We may also share Personal Data with third parties in limited circumstances, including when preventing fraud or imminent harm and ensuring the security of our network and services.

YOUR RIGHTS AND YOUR CHOICES
Under Applicable Data Protection Laws, you may have the right, in certain cases, to request access to your Personal Data that we process, to request details about such Personal Data, including the purposes and potential recipients of this data, to have such Personal Data rectified or deleted, to have the processing thereof restricted, or to object to the processing of your Personal Data, as well as to request a copy of your Personal Data in a standardized format.

In addition, you may decline to provide Personal Data to us, some if not all of our features or services may not function properly as a result.

If your Personal Data changes, you may update it using the “Account Info” link. When you update information, we may keep a copy of the prior version for our records. If you have specific requests about your Personal Data, you may email us at ertsupport@epa.gov.

You have control over your user profile and can edit such to remove information that you do not want others to see publicly via the Site. You can manage your personal profile information by visiting URL https://response.epa.gov login page. The information you post in your project pages or site profile pages MAY be publicly available if you set security to Public. Information set Public is not protected by any privacy settings so if you do not want certain information to be publicly available, do not set the security level to Public.

INFORMATION CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
By using the Service or providing Personal Data to us, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically regarding your use of the Site. If we learn of a security system’s breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically by sending an email to you.

In all other cases, your Personal Data will be stored by US EPA/ERT for as long as necessary in order to fulfill the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and to comply with minimum retention periods under applicable law. Unless otherwise specified in our Terms of Use, or notified to you in writing, we generally aim to put this Personal Data beyond further use within 24 months after the end of the provision of any Service to you. However, you can request earlier deletion by contacting us via email at ertsupport@epa.gov.

CHANGES TO PRIVACY STATEMENT
USEPA/ERT may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any adjustments to the Privacy Policy on this web page, and the revised version will be effective when it is posted. When we change this Privacy Policy in a material way, a prominent notice will be posted on our Site along with the updated this Privacy Policy prior to the changes becoming effective.
