The 2017 Canada-United States (CANUS) Joint Marine Pollution Contingency Plan (JMPCP) provides a coordinated system for planning, preparing and responding to harmful substance incidents in the adjacent waters of the United States and Canada. The 2017 JMPCP supersedes and replaces the 2013 revised Canada-United States JMPCP.

The Great Lakes Geographic Annex (CANUSLAK Plan) is an operational annex to the bilateral Joint Marine Pollution Contingency Plan between the United States and Canada established to ensure coordinated planning, preparedness, and response to a harmful substance incident in the contiguous waters of the two nations. The CANUSLAK Annex covers the Great Lakes boundary between Canada and the United States, defines the CANUSLAK Joint Response Team (JRT), and is regularly tested and improved on in an ongoing series of CANUSLAK exercises. Its purpose is to augment and link the pollution response systems and plans in each nation to facilitate an efficient joint response to a cross border spill.

The Canada-U.S. Atlantic Geographic Annex (CANUSLANT Plan) is an
operational annex to the bilateral Joint Marine Pollution Contingency Plan
between the United States and Canada established to ensure coordinated
planning, preparedness and response to a harmful substance incident in the
contiguous waters of the two nations. The Atlantic Geographic Annex covers the
Atlantic marine boundary between Canada and the United States, defines the
CANUSLANT Joint Response Team (JRT), and is regularly tested and improved in an
ongoing series of CANUSLANT exercises. Its purpose is to augment and link
the pollution response systems and plans in each nation to facilitate an
efficient joint response to a cross-border spill.

CANUS JMPCP Annex 3: Pacific Geographic Annex (CANUSPAC) (RRT 10) |
The purpose of the Pacific Geographical Annex (CANUSPAC) to the Canada -
U.S. Joint Marine Pollution Contingency Plan is to identify the specific
processes whereby both Coast Guards communicate, consult and coordinate in
response to discharge or threat of discharge of pollution into the contiguous waters
of interest of both Canada and the United States. This Geographical Annex applies to the contiguous waters defined by the
international boundary between British Columbia and Washington comprising the
waters of the Juan de Fuca region on the Pacific Coast,
